Wave modelling is an integral part of many activities related to the sea and today it is more important than ever. Design and installation of offshore structures, renewable energy devices at sea, harbours and other structures all require investigations of wave conditions. Wave modelling also form the basis for a number of activities in coastal engineering, such as studies of coastal morphodynamics and beach restauration. For many years, DHI has been a pioneer in wave modelling and today we offer the most advanced and proven professional modelling tools.
Our 2D wave modules include MIKE 21 Spectral Waves (SW) and MIKE 21 Boussinesq Waves (BW). MIKE 21 SW enables you to simulate growth, decay and transformation of wind-generated waves and swells, whereas MIKE 21 BW is a state-of-the-art tool for analysing wave disturbances in ports, harbours and coastal areas. Both modules are highly user-friendly, well-documented and solid.
