DHI and Barthauer introduce new software solution for hydrodynamic sewer simulation

With several years of experience in software development and maintenance, both companies are innovation leaders in their respective fields.

Barthauer Software GmbH is a leading software manufacturer of integrated asset management systems. Their main product – the network information system BaSYS – provides comprehensive tools for managing the entire life cycle of supply and drainage networks, including water, wastewater, and storm water networks. DHI’s hydraulic solutions complement Barthauer’s state-of-the-art software solutions in the field of network management.

‘Changing technology and market trends require a continuous effort in terms of development of existing products’, says Barthauer Software GmbH CEO Jürgen Barthauer. ‘In addition to our own software development, that includes collaboration with other innovative companies. Only in this way can skills be bundled and efficient new solutions created’.

Users of the network information system BaSYS can access the calculation parameters and results of MIKE URBAN. Barthauer integrated MIKE Powered by DHI’s MIKE 1D engine using the Barthauer interface ARENA directly in the network information system BaSYS. This provides an innovative alternative for its users. Together with the MIKE products, a seamless workflow enables users to perform flood modelling studies, for example.

‘Our multi-dimensional modelling software – expanded to include data on asset management – is enhanced by the partnership with Barthauer. Coupled with other relevant information, this really benefits our clients’, says Dr. Richard Vestner, Managing Director of DHI-WASY.

‘With DHI, we have gained a stable partner with a similar company philosophy. This is important for long-term cooperation. With MIKE 1D, we can now offer our comprehensive solution package BaSYS, used for managing supply and disposal networks, with the most competent possible partner in the hydraulic world’, said Barthauer.
