DHI Italian Conference 2015 attracts large turnout

The 6th Italian DHI Conference 2015 held 14-15 October 2015 in Turin attracted more than 200 industry experts from Italy’s public, private, research and academic sectors.

Participants attended the biennial conference to exchange knowledge and competencies on water environments driven by MIKE Powered by DHI technologies.

The presentations by our users from governmental agencies, research entities, universities as well as international and local engineering companies were the basis for interactive and interesting discussions during the two-day event.

The well-received conference hosted existing and potential MIKE users and was a melting pot for water-related organisations to gather, network and exchange ideas regardless of their affiliations. DHI Italy’s Managing Director, Birnur Yavuz delivered the opening speech. Nearly 50 speakers from various organisations took the stage, with plenary sessions in the mornings and four parallel sessions in the afternoons. The conference programme addressed issues related to water resources as well as surface and groundwater, discussing issues from Alpine catchments to the sea, and from distribution networks to sewage treatment plants.

Some of our participants’ comments:

‘I have participated in previous Italian DHI Conferences and I always leave the conferences motivated and ready for new project activities. The presentations are original and inspiring and compared to other conferences, the Italian conferences are characterised by a high level of professionalism.’ - Mr Fulvio Bollini, Technical Director, Est Sesia Irrigation Consortium

‘It has been a real eye-opener to participate in the DHI Italian Conference and learn about MIKE software and their applications. We understand today the importance of the MIKE products as powerful tools in building a transparent and objective decision-making process. This is extremely innovative and important towards relevant stakeholders, civil society and institutions, and contributes to avoiding misunderstandings and conflicts that can result in various legal actions.’ - Mr Michele Rosati, SOGIN (State company in charge of the environmental remediation of Italian nuclear sites and of the safe management of radioactive waste)

Italian DHI Conference 2015 was organised within the framework of THE ACADEMY by DHI, with the goal of increasing awareness and access to all the knowledge and skills acquired by DHI in our 50 years of activities in the water sector

We look forward to hosting you again in 2017.
